There are many benefits of quitting smoking. Support from a Stop Smoking Adviser increases your chance of stopping for good. Some pharmacies in North Tyneside are able to offer free support.
Over the course of 12 weeks, you'll work with your adviser to choose an appropriate treatment, learn how to use the treatment correctly, and come up with a plan tailored to your lifestyle to help you deal with cravings.
As well as accessing local community pharmacies, residents can now book face to face appointments with Stop Smoking Specialists at locations across the borough for free.
The team are working from the White Swan Centre in Killingworth, Northumberland Park Medical centre in Shiremoor, Wallsend Community Hub and Library, Whitley Bay Community Hub and Library, Battle Hill Library and Shields Health Hub in North Shields.
*You must be a resident of North Tyneside and/or registered with a North Tyneside GP to qualify for free support.

E-cigarettes
E-cigarettes allow you to inhale nicotine through vapour rather than smoke. This vapour doesn't contain tar or carbon monoxide. Those are two of the most harmful elements in tobacco smoke. Using an e-cigarette isn't completely risk-free, but is 95% less harmful than smoking.
You can use E-cigarettes to stop smoking along with support from a Stop Smoking Adviser.
