Wallsend Boys Club (“WBC”) was founded in 1904 by the employees and directors of Swan Hunters Shipyard in order to provide recreational activities for the apprentices and young people in the area. WBC runs a variety of activities that are open to all young people in the local area, and has a strong history and track record of supporting disadvantaged young people.
The objects of The Club are to help and educate members, through leisure activities, to develop their physical and mental capacity in order to help them become useful and responsible members of society.
The Club is a Registered Charity(charity no. 1114421) and company limited by guarantee (5540723) with a mission and wider aspirations for the future, run by staff and volunteers who organise and deliver the activities of the club.
There are numerous volunteering opportunities within the club and we are always happy to welcome new volunteers to our organisation.
