Holystone Hinnies usually meet on the first Thursday of the month at Holystone Primary School NE27 0DA 7pm -9pm (although occasionally the date changes around school holidays so check our website https://holystonehinnieswi.weebly.com/ or Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/HolystoneHinniesWI/ for most up to date info).
We are open to all ladies over the age of 18 and currently have a good mix of ages attending regularly.
We have a varied monthly meeting programme of speakers, crafts, physical activities, games and socials, all washed down with a cuppa and cake.
We also offer additional activities such as quarterly dine outs to local restaurants, theatre trips, afternoon teas, and our most recent Christmas night out was to Boulevard drag show.
Holystone Hinnies is ran by a committee of volunteers for the benefit of our members - we are very open to any suggestions of activities and if there is enough interest we’ll organise it. We have a bucket list where members can find friends to do something they’ve always wanted to do… from going to an auction to beekeeping or flying in a glider!
We are also part of the wider WI, the largest women’s group in the UK, and as such have a voice to campaign on issues close to our heart. We also have access to a wider range of activities through Northumberland federation. You don’t have to live in Holystone to join Holystone Hinnies, and there are also other WIs around North Tyneside - you can search for your closest at https://www.thewi.org.uk/wis-a-z
