North Tyneside Carers’ Centre is a local charity set up to support family and friend carers. We understand and recognise the demands of providing unpaid care and the impact caring can have on your own health and wellbeing. Every carer's situation is different. Our professionally trained team offers information, advice, and support tailored to the individual needs of young and adult carers. This could include:
- Advice on how to get support and about services that can help you and the person you care for
- Emotional support
- A range of regular support groups where you can meet and share experiences with other carers
- Social and Wellbeing activities where you can relax and take a break from your caring role
- Specialised support for carers of someone with a mental health condition
- Information sessions and workshops to help you increase your confidence and knowledge as a carer
- One-to-one support and breaks and activities for young carers
- Help to stay in employment or enter work
- Helping Young Adult Carers aged 16 to 25
- Counselling
