Home support
At Dementia Matters we offer an all-inclusive Home Support service providing anything from a 1 hour call up to bespoke 24 hour packages of care designed around you in your home.
With 25 years' experience in Home Support and access to over 30 qualified and experienced Home Support Staff, 2 expert coordinators and a Registered Manager who also holds 25 years' experience in the care sector we are sure we can meet your care requirements.
Using the latest technology in care planning and coordination, our assessments are completed with compassion and dignity, our care planners help gain a detailed and in depth knowledge for the kind of care you would like to receive and how you would like it delivered.
Day centre At the Bradbury Centre have a purpose-built, modern day service that has capacity for up to 50 people on a daily basis.
The Day Service includes:
A Beauty Salon Cinema Sensory Room Restaurant with chef Arts and Craft rooms Tovertafel Activity Lounge Beautiful fully accessible gardens. We also have a variety of activities that take place throughout the week such as:
Gentle chair exercises Parachute games Bowling Ball Games Carpet Bowels Singing using song sheets Listening to CD's and singing Reminiscing DVD's Films e.g Musical, local interest, Dominoes Scrabble Cards Jigsaws Reminiscing with pictures e.g places, people and scenes Church Service Pat dog Gus Musical/normal bingo Knitting Baking Jewelry making Art and Crafts Gardening Quizzes Table tennis CST Sessions Cinema afternoon
Providing much needed daily respite for dedicated carers throughout the north east and a stimulating environment with a touch of fun and sense of purpose for those who attend.
We have highly trained staff who provide company and compassion to all our guests involving them throughout the day ensuring the day is focused around their individual needs and activities of their choice. Delicious meals in our restaurant and unlimited tea, coffee's, drinks and biscuits helps aid with nutrition and hydrations needs.
Residential and respite
Originally started out as a small 5-bed respite unit over time and due to its heightened popularity the service has developed and expanded into an 8-bedroom service that now offers Respite and residential rooms. Respite Residential is a small-bespoke facility with high staffing ratios and access to the Bradbury day service and Gardens.
Our respite residential also boasts a luxury bathroom including a state of the art hydrotherapy bath, a modern accessibility suite to ensure all abilities can be cared for and a fun fully interactive Tovatafel table that provides hours of stimulation and fun for our guests.
Home cooked meals and a small dining area provide that more homely type feel and a lovely intimate lounge area with big screen TV, iPads, Radio and music players along with plenty of activities and games that can be participated in as a group or individually.
Your room, Your choice, we encourage our guests to bring their home comforts with them this helps make people feel safe and secure in their environment and most importantly the environment feels familiar to them.
Advice centre The Dementia Advice Centre is a brand-new service for people living on Tyneside looking for effective, coordinated support or information about living with dementia
Designed to fill a gap in community-led services for people who have been newly diagnosed with dementia, as well as the friends, family members and carers of long-term sufferers, the new Centre is a joint venture between not-for-profit organisations, Dementia Matters and Newcastle Carers.
Based at Newcastle's Outer West Library, the Dementia Advice Centre is open for people to access a range of dementia specific services, from information about day care and respite services, to specialist clinical assistance from the dedicated on-site Admiral Nurse.
Funded by The Ballinger Charitable Trust and the Lloyds Bank Foundation, the innovative Centre comprises a dedicated reception area, a hot-desk area for 'drop-in' advisers, an informal discussion area as well as two confidential consultation rooms for private conversations with our dedicated advice team.

We are a Newcastle-based charity that provides specialist care, support and advice to people with dementia and other neurological disorders, such as acquired brain injury, stroke, multiple sclerosis and Parkinson's disease.
We also provide care for people with physical disabilities and complex health needs. We support people at any age and from any community.
We are rated as Good by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) in all regulated areas of service.
