Disability North is a free Independent Living Service which promotes social inclusion, independence and choice for disabled and older people in the North East of England and Cumbria.
Disability North is a user led registered charity which works with, and for, disabled people, empowering them to maximise the control they have over their own lives.
We provide information on all aspects of independent living, such as personal care and leisure. These are often referred to as activities of daily living or ADL. We have a comprehensive range of:-

Demonstration areas including an accessible bathroom and living area, stairlifts and a mobility track.

Free assessments, by appointment, are carried out by therapists who can give independent guidance on the most suitable equipment for you.
Please note that although we don't provide or sell any equipment ourselves we do coordinate a secondhand list for people looking to sell or donate equipment.
