Linskill Centre - the heart of the community
Managed by the Linskill and North Tyneside Community Development Trust the Linskill Centre in North Shields is a thriving community resource to learn, relax and engage in activities. The Linskill attracts over 160,000 visitors per year through its community development programmes, local groups, tenants, weekly activities, room hire, weddings and events programme.
The Linskill Centre offers the following facilities and services:
Community Development at Battle Hill & Linskill - A full & engaging program for everyone over 18, with specific activities for people over 55. Linskill Nursery - an Ofsted regulated nursery delivering quality child care for babies, toddlers up to pre-school age. The nursery has access to outdoor learning facilities, Sensory Room and a range of extra-curricular children's activities.
Family Services - currently developing a range of courses to offer support and guidance to parents and carers including effective parenting, weaning workshops and self-help groups.
Squiggles N Giggles – a range of activities to encourage child development and parent-child bonding through music, movement and fun. Activities include: Baby Massage, Baby Social, Creative Play, Giggle N Groove, Sensory Stars and Tots Tales.
Conference and Meeting Room Hire - a full range of rooms are available for conferences and meetings, including two large halls which are fully serviced by our Customer Services Team. Our satellite sites at Royal Quays and Battle Hill also offer conference and meeting room facilities in community settings.
Permanent Office Space - a range of office space, varying sizes, is available for hire by tenants and local businesses on a short or long term basis at Linskill, Royal Quays and Battle Hill.
Café 32 - is open to Centre users and the general public from Monday to Friday and can provide onsite catering for events and functions. Café 32 is fully licensed and offers an informal meeting space accommodating up to 50 people for private hire outside of core business hours.
Weddings & Events - the Linskill Centre is licensed for wedding ceremonies and offers a bespoke event management service for corporate functions, weddings, celebratory parties and other community events. A range of hire and catering packages are available along with a licensed bar facility.
Community Groups & Classes - there are nearly 60 weekly classes and activities delivered by external providers at the Linskill throughout the week including: fitness, music, languages, health, education, crafts, children’s activities, sport and social groups.
